My Saturday Morning Success Ritual… What’s Yours?

successful women in business onlineThe house is peaceful on Saturday mornings…

And so, I’ve claimed it as the perfect time to:

1) Catch up on all the tele-classes and blog posts I didn’t get a chance to listen to or read during the week.

2) If the inspiration is there, I submit at least one new article to eZineArticles.com that I also re-purpose through my blog. (Today I managed to submit an article BEFORE I made my coffee – that’s very rare indeed he he)

This part of my week has become a success ritual that I believe makes a big impact in my life and business.

  • It supports my commitment to life-long learning (and love of learning)
  • It is in line with one of my success mantras … KISS “Keep It Strategically Simple”
  • It provides a sense of accomplishment

So what’s one thing that YOU can start to doing consistently every week as a ritual that supports your success?

Or, maybe you’ve already got a success ritual? If so, I’d love to hear about it so please comment below.

Top Five Reasons Why It’s So Smart to be Equity-Rich Online

“Equity-Rich” is more than just a business model…
.

Woman in business online 7

It’s more than a system or process. It’s an approach to doing and being a wildly successful online entrepreneur. It’s like being able to put on a pair of smart glasses that increases your speed of success, from the impact you make to the revenue you generate.

When you make this shift and begin to look at your business from an equity-rich point of view it’s the difference between putting out a fire with a garden hose versus a fire hose. Now you’re getting somewhere right!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. ~ Wayne Dyer

Having an equity-rich approach to your online success is a smart way to do and be in business… Here’s why:

1. Equity: When you build equity in your business you increase the value of it. Your ability to build equity comes in many forms from the programs and products you create to the systems and business model(s) you leverage. A simple example is a membership-based business. Each new member builds equity in the company. When you are able to clearly identify the equity within your business it becomes an “asset” that you can sell.

An equity-rich approach reaches beyond the traditional “solo-preneur” view and explores what if’s such as… What if there comes a time where you don’t want to (or can’t) continue the business? An equity-rich approach takes the solo out of solopreneur and ensures the life equity (time) you invest in the creation, development and evolution of your business becomes an asset that you or your family (estate) can leverage in the future. (i.e. a company that could be sold despite your involvement).

2. Leverage: Your ability to apply leverage within your business is what enables you to make more in less time, to do more with less effort. From time, money, expertise, relationships, energy, business model and more… there are a multitude of ways to leverage what you’ve got to get what you really want.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Why just do it when you can REALLY do it?

3. Asset Development: An equity-rich approach to business explores asset creation and how each asset adds value (equity) to the business as well as to your ideal clients. An example of an asset is an in-demand product or service. An “equity-rich” asset is one that can be leveraged to build equity from a long-term perspective.

4. ROI (Return on Investment): Starting and growing a thriving business online requires an investment of time, money, faith and more. An equity-rich approach looks at how you can get the best return on your investment – for the long term.

When you make decisions from this equity-rich vantage point it becomes easy to evaluate what’s smart and what’s not. Your ability to build equity, create and leverage assets for the greatest return on investment becomes a filter that makes evaluating opportunities easy-peasy!

Clarity = confidence and it is the heart beat of an equity-rich approach that supports the leaps and momentum success-driven women crave.

5. Legacy: Now here’s where SMART meets BIG THINKER… When an entrepreneur looks at their business in this way everyone wins. It’s the difference between a hobby business and a business owner/CEO.

As I mentioned above, an equity-rich approach to business looks beyond the solo in solopreneur and explores the question… what if you didn’t want to keep doing this business or what if something happened and you couldn’t. What measures are in place to ensure that your family can fully leverage your success?

From the creation of an online operations manual, multiple and passive revenue streams to the very foundation of your business model, you can build an equity-rich business that honors your legacy – adding value and increase to the lives of your ideal clients and the lives of your family – whether you’re actively engaged or not.

An equity-rich approach to business is a catalyst that accelerates success long term. If you’d like to explore the concept further, join me for the Equity-Rich Women Online Teleseries. It’s on now… http://www.ginabellinc.com/erw/preview

Unleash Your Joint-Venturous Spirit: If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em! Two heads are better than one. United we stand!

Friends working at cafeIf you want to enjoy the rewards of successful joint venture marketing (and there are many) here are five things to think about and do…

1) Get Serious! Pull up your socks, roll up your sleeves and make a firm decision to get joint ventures working for you in new and powerful ways!

Simply making the decision to leverage this high ROI strategy opens your mind and heart to new opportunities and new relationships. The pieces start to fall into place ~ not by magic ~ rather, your decision jump starts your brain and it gets to work figuring out how to make it happen (okay, sometimes that can be quite magical!).

2) BE the kind of joint venture partner you’d like to attract. One of the best ways to learn the lay of the land is to participate in other people’s joint ventures. You can get an inside glance at their systems and promotional materials. And, what goes around comes around… it’s the doing that will get the laws of attraction and reciprocity working in your favour!

3) Get into the game. Not sure WHO to joint venture with or HOW to put an attractive joint venture program together? You’re not alone. My best advice? Stop sitting on the sidelines. In addition to participating in joint ventures, become a student of joint venture marketing. Read books; search the web; listen to tele-seminars; take a course; find a mentor or coach. Identify the gaps and barriers holding you back and start learning exactly what you need to know to be empowered to take action.

4) Leverage proven systems. Dramatically increase your odds of success by leveraging proven systems and processes. Based on your joint venture marketing goals/plans this could include:

- Joint Venture Marketing Action Plan

- Templates and Checklists

- Client Management System

- Follow Up/Keep in Touch System

- etc…

5) Brainstorm and Mastermind with like-minded joint-venturous women in business online. Imagine the momentum and success you can create with a community of like-minded, supportive, caring women cheering you on, and taking action to do what they can to support your success…

It sounds incredible doesn’t it?

So what are you waiting for? Learn how to leverage relationships. Discover the power of a mastermind environment and tap into practical marketing skills and must-have mindsets, both are key to achieving success – on your terms – but not alone.

If Decisions Were THIS Easy We’d All Be …

paper fortune tellerDo you remember paper fortune tellers from when you were younger?

My friends and I used to make them – all the time! They were SO much fun!!

If only making decisions in REAL life and business could be this easy ;)

Unfortunately, there’s only one way to feel confident about what the future holds for us… and that is to act on decisions now – today – that support a future we want to experience.

So… how do you make BIG decisions when fear has you shaking in your booties?

The first step is to recognize that fear isn’t always a stop sign.

There is a difference between fear that stems from true danger and fear that stems from stepping beyond your comfort zone.

Here’s my best advice if fear is keeping you from making and acting on a big decision:

• Remember, fear isn’t always a stop sign.

• Seek the truth. (YOUR truth)

• Breath.

• Get clear about the fear. Feel it then face it.

• Be honest and compassionate with yourself. A massive degree of honesty is required. Don’t beat yourself up for feeling scared.

• Listen for your authentic voice amidst the mind chatter. It is there. You already know the answers.

• Decide and take action.

• Seek Inspiration. (Need a little extra motivation? Watch the Dare Change Video)

“I have accepted fear as a part of life – specifically the fear of change…. I have gone ahead despite the pounding in the heart that says: turn back.” ~Erica Jong

Does the fear you are experiencing stem from true danger? What is your reality?

Developing an equity-rich mindset will empower you to get to the truth behind your fears so you can make decisions and act on them quickly and confidently.

Join me for the Equity-Rich Women Online Teleseries, we’re going to be covering “Five Mindset Shifts Essential to an Equity-Rich Business Online” on call #4.

Good luck!

How to Bounce Back Fast When Someone Bursts Your Bubble

Back to schoolThis post is a re-run, originally posted in June of 2009 after someone burst my bubble – big time! I’m re-posting it today in response to a conversation with one of my awesome VIP clients. You see, someone burst HER bubble this week and I’m on a mission to help her (and you) to bounce back fast if/when it happens to you!

Let me ask you…

Have you ever put yourself out there with a new product, program or service and experienced an immediate and totally unexpected backlash?

That’s what happened to me…

And I can tell you, it felt like I had been punched in the gut! I’m not kidding. I was completely winded. My initial reaction was to curl up in a ball and cry my eyes out. It hurt.

I did cry but thanks to the incredible women (and a few men) that I mastermind with, I was able to pick myself up, dust myself off – all in record time!

Here’s the really cool part…

When I was in the midst of the frustration, anger, self-doubt (ohhhh the self doubt!) and plain old stuckness that comes with any kind of reaction you’re not prepared for, my intuition kicked into gear and I reached out to my mastermind for… HELP!

I posted my situation to our mastermind forum and shared my heartache. Within minutes I had people who truly care about me and my success sending me virtual hugs, sharing their own bubble bursting experiences and helping me to move forward again.

There’s no info product, article or eBook that could have impacted me the way this group of amazing women did that day (and still do).

If you’re going through anything similar, I want you to know that you’re not alone.

And that there are some really simple things you can do to manage the fear and self-doubt that comes with any kind of negative response …

1. Get out of your head and follow your heart.

When you’re in the midst of a painful situation it’s easy to curl up in a ball and completely shut down or, the oppositive, to lash out too quickly.

The negative self-talk we all experience is louder and nastier than ever.

The key is to get out of your head and follow your heart. Challenge the self-talk and compare it to the truths you hold in your heart. The sooner you do this, the quicker you’ll bounce back – stronger than ever!

2. Reach out and ask for help.

My mentor reminded me of something this week…

There’s a big myth that exists in our minds that admitting our fear somehow makes us weak or unsuccessful. And I agree with Marie… this is total baloney.

Here’s her advice on this one:

“I feel fear regularly…especially when I’m in the midst of creating a lot of cool, new stuff.

When you step outside of the norms in business and life, expect some fear. Just don’t let it stop you.

The best thing to do is to gently call yourself out on it and more importantly, call a friend.

The secret is to share your fear from a neutral place (meaning: don’t FREAK out and believe your fearful thoughts) and allow your friend to “talk you back from the ledge.”

3. Fail Forward and Take Immediate Action.

A philosophy that serves me well is the idea that every “failure” offers an opportunity to grow. In fact, the Chinese symbol for “crisis” also represents “opportunity”.

When something goes wrong or doesn’t unfold according to plan, rather than view it as a failure and get caught up in your head like I mentioned earlier. Get into action.

Here’s what I mean…

Rather than continue to moan and groan and feel angry and frustrated with the negative reaction I encountered just days before, I re-focused positive energy to the new Equity-Rich Women Online programs I have prepared for 2010.

I mapped out my virtual and live retreats programs, organized the time lines, created content and then celebrated with my honey.

I’ve had the privilege to be part of amazing masterminds. Surrounding myself with people who really care about my success makes all the difference in the world. When you have this, it’s pretty difficult to really fail.

I’m so excited to launch these new programs. They’re infused with the essentials I’ve identified for creating my own fun, fame and fortune with the goal that they will become your reason why it’s impossible for you to fail.

Setbacks can be the ideal fodder for mega creativity – if you get out of your head, ask for help and… fail forward.

Okay…

I’ve gotta run. We are snowed in this week and I’m helping my Mom-in-Law with a big pot of soup for the boys who are snow blowing driveways, sidewalks and streets in the neighbourhood.

Have the best week ever and I’ll talk with you again soon. Calls 2 and 3 in the Equity-Rich Women Online Tele-series are this week!

My Favorite Lesson of 2009 is “Go Pro!” What’s Yours?

Earth DropletMy favorite lesson of 2009 is “Go Pro”. The underlying premise is the concept of living in the moment or as Eckhart Tolle brought to the world in a big way – The Power of Now.

Now is reality. The past is over and can’t be re-done and the future hasn’t happened yet.

The only real power we have is right here and now.

Moment by moment we create the reality that unfolds. It sounds deep but it really isn’t. The decisions I make and actions I take NOW impact the future I experience.

The idea of “Go Pro” simply means that in each moment, whatever it is that I’m doing, I’m going to do it with my full attention and to the best of my abilities.

If I’m writing an article, all my energy and focus and effort will go into writing the best article I’m capable of in that moment. If I’m making a sandwich, same thing. If I’m talking with my daughter, I’ll listen with all my energy and focus (I say listen because she does 99% of the talking – she’s 17 he he).

Think about this for a moment… what reality would you experience if moment by moment you invested fully, no holds barred, completely engaged and present?

You’d be surprised how often the mind wanders away on us and I don’t know about you but I’d rather be living in the present to the very best of my abilities than stuck in my head replaying the past or worrying about the future.

Each time my mind tries to wander (and it always does) I’ll notice it and bring my attention back to fully engage in what I’m doing.

I’m taking this one with me into 2010 and beyond too because it’s really more of a way to be and do rather than a single lesson to be learned. Big thanks goes to @marieforleo and her Rich Happy Hot Virtual Mastery program.
.

“Most people treat the present moment as if it were an obstacle that they need to overcome. Since the present moment is Life itself, it is an insane way to live.” ~ Eckhart Tolle
.

So, what’s YOUR top lesson from 2009 that you’re taking with you into 2010? I’d love to know. Post your comments below.

Women in Business Online: Create a Success Catalyst with this Strategic Planning Tool

planning conceptWhen it comes to being the multi-passionate, creative and conscious entrepreneur that I am, my knee-jerk reaction is to resist and even under-value “traditional” business tools. I’m convinced it’s a bit of rebellion left from escaping the corporate world. Can you relate?

When I became an entrepreneur I used to believe that “corporate” planning tools didn’t apply to me somehow but with the help of my coaches and mentors I’ve learned how to leverage many “traditional” tools as a catalyst to greater success.

Two of my favorite tools beyond a traditional business plan are:

1) the Operations Manual

2) the SWOT Analysis

Today we’ll look at the SWOT analysis (sometimes referred to as a risk analysis). In early 2010 I’ll be hosting a tele-class on how to create an operations manual for an online business as well as how it fits into an equity-rich business philosophy that fuels a true freedom-based business.

SWOT is an acronym for:

S = Strengths

W = Weaknesses

O = Opportunities

T = Threats

Business SWOT AnalysisThe graphic shows a traditional graph version of SWOT but you could easily use mind-mapping techniques. The traditional chart provides a simple visual for today’s article but stay tuned to the blog for a continuation of this topic from a mind-mapping perspective.

The key to this exercise is to look at your business and your goals through each lens. The end result is a snapshot of the current status of your business and a reference point that allows you to shift into immediate action.

One of my best recommendations to my clients is to “start where you are” and that is only possible when you have an honest and accurate assessment.
.

So, what are YOUR honest answers to these questions:

• What are your business strengths?

• What are the gaps or weaknesses that exist?

• What opportunities exist for you right now?

• Are there any potential threats or barriers?

Knowing the answer to these questions empowers the planning process.

For example, identifying opportunities that exist for you right now provides clarity of what needs immediate attention. Knowing the gaps and weaknesses that exist places a spotlight on specific areas that may need to be eliminated, delegated or automated.

Your SWOT analysis becomes a launching pad to taking focused action to improve your business.

Or perhaps you need to get serious about improving your skills in a specific area because the lack of has become a threat to the success of your business.

Trying to create success with blinders on is right up there with adopting hope as a strategy. It just doesn’t work.

Based on your SWOT, what are your next steps? Write them down. Schedule time in your calendar.

Keep an open mind. Even the most traditional corporate business tools can be leveraged by creative and conscious entrepreneurs.

Give the SWOT analysis a try. I guarantee that it will provide new and powerful insights that will support your planning and goals for the coming year.

Authenticity Boosts Your Marketing Fun-Factor & More!

I love this quote by CJ Hayden author of Get Clients Now!

mask1“The more you become honest, direct, and authentic in all of your marketing, the more appealing selling will be to you, the more effortless it will become, and the more success you will ultimately achieve. …most business results from building relationships, and how can you develop a relationship with someone when you never reveal who you really are?”

Action Step:

Think about the elements of your business. Look at the structure, your programs, the words and copy, who your target audience is. Look at it and ask yourself… is this “me”?

One of the biggest traps entrepreneurs fall into is the comparison trap where they’ve compared and copied because they think it’s the right thing to do versus their own way or, they’ve become start-struck by the business and lifestyle of a celebrity guru.

When this happens authenticity gets thrown out the window and we start to create from comparison mode or we try to “model” the success of others which may not be authentic to us.

Again, think about your business, really place it under a microscope and write down 3 ways that you can start to breath honesty, conviction and authenticity back into it now. You’ll be amazed how this magnetizes your marketing and fuels your passion.

And… if you REALLY want to give your marketing a motivating kick-in-the-pants join me for the next Get Clients Now! Marketing Action Group starting January 19th.
