Entrepreneur or Rebel’preneur?

Traditional? Nope. Contemporary? Nope. Contrarian? Close, but nope. Eclectic. That’s how I used to describe myself and my resistance to all things conventional. That is until I found a better word…

Today, I describe myself and the rule-bending women I attract as Rebel’preneurs who crave emotional, financial & creative freedom through entrepreneurship. Can you relate?

When women claim their rightful positions as Rebel’preneurs, radical shifts happen. Websites get overhauled. Books get completed. Online visibility, traction & audience attention goes to stratospheric heights. Missions get rejuvenated, and the big WHY behind your work becomes the driving force behind everything you create.

Alignment. Connection. Independence. And freedom.

Can you taste it?

Rebel’preneur? Cool! While you’re here, share any other characteristics you would use to describe a rebel’preneur in the comments.

  1. Love this Gina! I totally resonate with being a rebel’preneur. I’m tired of seeing the same old, same old stuff and approach to all things ‘online marketing’ – there IS another way. And to me, that’s about being true to yourself and creating a powerful and profitable brand that really reflects your unique gifts, talents and genius – vs. following some template formula. Boring!

To me, being a rebel’preneur is about having the courage to stand out, be bold and NOT do things the same way everyone else does them. Who said you have to do it that way? Love it – learn the rules then make up your own. I’m with you on that!

Thanks for starting this conversation and great to see you owning this!

    • Hi Steph! I agree… being true to yourself is definitely a Rebel’preneur trait. And, when you master the rules it puts you in a position to deconstruct them and make them your own. Original. Fun. And still effective because it’s based on tried and true principles. I’m on a mission to help other women unleash their unblueprint instincts with confidence! I knew you’d be down for that ;) xo

  2. As a fellow Canadian I can relate to the Rebel’preneur mindset….I think I’ll add to it the ‘out of the box’ mindset!
A Rebel’preneur will not only find bigger boxes…but will kick the back out of a box if need be!
    Or another of my fav’s:
We label customer’s in a beer budget, wine budget or say ‘champagne’ taste! When I had a client of mine ask me to which category I was in? My immediate answer “A tequila shooter kinda gal”…guess I am a true Rebel’preneur…LOL

    • Hi Jody! Fellow Canadian – high fives!! Yes – out of the box, kick the back out of the box… heck – what box? LOL Thanks for taking the time to share!! P.S. Count me in for a tequila shooter too! xo

  5. Gina, great post. I have always been a rebel in both my personal life and business. I have been an entrepreneur for 22 years, even though I did the corporate “thing” way back when to earn my stripes.

There really is no “box” except the one we put ourselves in.

I have reinvented myself many times and walked away from very successful businesses when they no longer suited my passion or purpose. Life is too short to be living someone else’s!
