Check it out… Big News for Part-Time Entrepreneurs!

If you are an entrepreneur trying to juggle your passion with a JOB or family priorities… you are going to love this news today!

It is rare to come across an organization that ACTUALLY feels fresh and new. What’s even more exciting is when it fills an obvious need.

I was invited to be part of it and now I get to share it with you!

Finally! World’s First (And Only) Organization for Part-Time Entrepreneurs

I was thrilled to be invited to join the mission to advocate for the success of part-time entrepreneurs as an Expert Advisor. I’ll be sharing surprisingly simple ways to achieve fun, fame and good fortune online – in record time along with 16 other experts in happiness and business matters.

So now I have a question for you.

Are you a part-time entrepreneur (PTE)? If you are passionately trying to grow a business “on the side” of your full-time life … with another job or taking care of your family for example.. then likely you are!

Why does this matter? PTEs have to be super motivated to step beyond a few unique challenges:

1) Comparing their speed of success with that of same-industry full-time entrepreneurs;

2) Reacting out of fear to these comparisons by signing up for costly training programs and taking marketing advice that is not RIGHT and not affordable for their differently paced businesses.

If PTEs are passionate about their business, but not finding practical, proven and easy to implement tips, tools and information to turn that passion into monetized success too… it wreaks havoc on relationships, finances and self-esteem.

But no longer! No more defining part-time success on full-time terms, no more expensive advice when affordable solutions fit your needs much better. PTE businesses are unique, and who you take advice from and your business actions much reflect your reality, nobody else’s.

Say hello to International Alliance of Motivated Part-Time Entrepreneurs (IAMPTE)

IAMPTE is the world’s only organization for PTEs, men and women of any age, trying to make money with a business or concept “on the side” of an already full life.

Women in Business Online: Life It Up! Is Your Attitude Your Ally?

Young woman doing cartwheel on grassAccording to David J Schwartz, Ph.D., Author of The Magic of Thinking Big …

Enthusiasm, or lack of it, shows through in everything you do and say.

Life up your handshaking. When you shake hands, shake! Make your hand clasp say ‘I’m glad to know you’, ‘I am glad to see you again’. A conservative, mouse-like handshake is worse than no handshake at all. Try to find a highly successful person with a conservative handshake. You’ll have to look a long, long time.

Life up your smiles. Smile with your eyes. Nobody likes an artificial, pasted on, rubbery kind of smile. When you smile, smile! Show a few teeth. Maybe your teeth aren’t attractive, but that’s really unimportant. For when you smile, people don’t see your teeth. They see a warm, enthusiastic person, someone they like.

Life up your “thank you’s”. A routine, automatic “thank you” is almost like saying “gleep, gleep.” It’s just an expression. It says nothing. It doesn’t accomplish results. Make your “thank you” mean “thank you very much.”

Life up your talk. Dr. James F. Bender, noted speech authority, in his excellent book How to talk Well says “Is your ‘Good Morning!’ really good?” Are you “Congratulations!” enthusiastic? Does your “How are you?” sound (genuinely) interested? When you make a habit of coloring your words with sincere feelings you’ll notice great uptake in your ability to hold attention.

A person who really believes what they say and do captures the hearts and minds of others. So say it and do it with life!

So, what other things can you (or do you) “life up” to ensure your attitude is your ally? Share your ideas and comments okay, there’s so much we can learn from each other.

Want to take it up a notch (or ten) on Twitter? Do what good tweeters do…

Do What Good Tweeters DoI was thrilled to be identified as one of the “Top 20 Responsive Women You Need to Follow on Twitter” – By Holly Reisem Hanna founder of The Work at Home Woman.

It sparked a question from my community of women in business online: “Gina, how can I be viewed as a responsive on Twitter too?”

My answer begins with a question for you:

When you login to Twitter to update your status, are you looking at the mutual benefit OR do you have a more singular “what’s in it for me” focus?

Now, don’t get me wrong. We are all in business to be successful and a BIG part of that is making money. And we all want to capture people’s attention (in a good way). The problem is that when we lead from a “what’s in it for me?” intention it comes across as salesy and one-sided.

Think of any relationship in your life… If it was consistently one-sided how long would it last?

People love to buy but they don’t like to be sold to. At a consumer level you already know this so why then do you keep trying to SELL?

The key to attracting new clients and making money through Twitter without being salesy is to shift your intention.

Be interested in others first rather than trying so hard to be interesting to them.

If you are using Twitter for business, do it in a way that adds value and increase to others rather than a blatant sales pitch – Yes, there IS a difference. It may seem counter-intuitive at first but it really works.

Below are two specific things that I do consistently to be responsive.

I believe that adding value and increase to the lives of others without expecting anything in return is the key to reciprocity. What goes around comes around.

Everyone who follows me receives an automatic direct message (auto-DM). I stopped using this technology for a while when people started to abuse it but I’m using it again very effectively.

I don’t know about you but I get DM spam in my twitter inbox every day. Anything that’s similar to “Hi! Thanks for following. Check out my website here …” or “Hi! It’s great to meet you. Here’s my FREE report” gets deleted immediately.

So how do you get YOUR auto-DM to stand out from the crowd? Remember… you’ve got to shift your intention. The example DM’s above are me-focused and salesy. What can you say that shows genuine interest in others and even gets conversation started?

Here’s mine…

“Hi! Thanks for reaching out! What do you love to tweet about the most? ~ Gina”

And guess what…

People respond. People tell me every day what they love to tweet about most. And just the other day someone added that they normally don’t respond to DM’s at all but mine was self-centered at all and they liked that.

The difference between the spammy salesy DM’s and mine is that it engages conversation and builds rapport and opens a door to what really matters… real relationships with real people.

The second thing I love to do is to connect people that should meet. This one’s easy but the key is to pay attention. Read people’s Twitter bios, take notice of what others tweet about and connect like-minded people. This is a great way to make sure you’ve shifted your intention to being interested in others first.

Twitter is where I meet my best joint venture partners too. It’s really become the hub for a lot of my joint venture marketing strategies.

So now YOU can do what good tweeters do. Give it a try and keep me posted on what you experience as a result okay. I’ll share more tips on how to be more responsive on Twitter again soon.

Wait! While you’re here, I’d sure love for you to share your thoughts and experiences below okay.

Default or Design? 3 Mindset Shifts to Unleash Your Passion-fueled Success

default or designWow! Can you believe it’s almost the end of February? Are you feeling restless? Have some of your New Years Resolutions or grand intentions for your success fallen away?

Let’s get you back on track…

Here are three essential shifts that will motivate you to gain the clarity and focus you need to influence and enjoy a more positive direction in your life and business.

(Note: A willingness to be completely honest with yourself is absolutely critical.)

1. Default to Design!

Are you letting life happen to you? Have you clearly defined your goals and how you’re going to achieve them?

It’s time to wake up! You are in the driver’s seat! You are the Captain of your destiny. You CAN create your life – the way you really want it! The true breakthrough lies here… Realizing that YOU are the key to creating more success and happiness in your life is the very first step.

2. Confusion to Confidence (Develop Your Authentic Vision):

Often new entrepreneurs make the mistake of jumping into business with both feet before putting a lot of thought into what the end destination may be. It’s like going to the airport, hopping on the next available plain, hoping for a tropical destination and ending up in Alaska versus taking the time to schedule the appropriate flight and accommodations related to the tropical vacation you were dreaming of. Hope is not a strategy.

To eliminate confusion ask yourself: What are your dreams? What matters to you? What does success mean to you? What do you really want for your life? What is your why – why did you become an entrepreneur? And dig deep on this one… If there were no barriers to your success and tomorrow you could wake up to the life and business of your dreams, what would that look like?

Be as specific as possible when you answer these questions and remember… the answers must come from YOU not from what success looks like for someone else such as a “celebrity guru”.

3. Become MINDFUL of Success (Develop Success Awareness):

“Nurture your mind with great thoughts for you will never go any higher than you think.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli

When you are mindful and aware it means you are actively attentive, and deliberately keeping something in mind.

Clearly define what success means to you and keep it in front of you. You could do this by creating a vision board or vision story or simply keeping a journal that you reference on a regular basis. The key is to be mindful of your authentic dreams, desires and destinations so that you are always moving towards them.

Become a student of success; read; learn; find a coach or mentor; surround yourself with successful people; listen to audio programs; immerse yourself in the idea of success and you will begin to see success all around you.

As Mahatma Gandhi said… “Be the change you want to see”.

So what do you want your reality to be like? Begin crafting it today through new choices, positive intentions and purposeful action.

And, if you’re really serious about 2010 being the year you astound yourself with big leaps in your business think about what you are willing to do to make that a done deal. The Equity-Rich Women Online coaching programs may be the catalyst you need. They’re devoted to success-driven women who are ready to experience a new level of momentum.
