A Tale of 3 List-Builders (Are Telesummits Dead?)

three paper cupOnce upon a time there were three joint venturous gals on a mission to grow their lists in a really big way. 

They were done with a handful of subscribers here and there.

They were tired of watching others add hundreds, even thousands to their lists with profitable joint ventures!

And they were ready to set a catalyst in motion…

… the kind that leads to new clients; friends-fans-and-followers; invitations to speak; media interest and high-level joint-venture partners.

And so… 

  • The first hosted a telesummit.
    .
  • The second published a collaborative e-book.
    .
  • The third published a digital magazine.
    .

Which strategy do you think produced the best results?

All things being relatively equal i.e. # of experts, launch campaign + target audience, the digital magazine results were 3 times greater than the telesummit!

Here are the numbers (rounded off)… 

  1. GOOD: Telesummit = 500 new subscribers
  2. BETTER: Collaborative e-Book = 850 new subscribers
  3. BEST: Digital Magazine = 1500 new subscribers 

Interesting, considering so many are still doing telesummits.

And did you know a telesummit is the most COMPLICATED of the three?

Yep and I’m speaking from personal experience. I’ve done them all – as have my clients. 

Telesummits may not be dead (yet) but they’re definitely not what they used to be.

Which is why I publish Rebelations Magazine.

  • Credibility
  • Simplicity

Oh and when it comes to a digital magazine it’s pretty easy to find experts to play with too. There’s a prestige factor that surpasses being published on a blog or in an ebook.
